Jag har publicerat flera artiklar om den skandalösa svenska behandlingen av Julian Assange tidigare, vissa som återpublicering av artikel på SWEDHR.

Svea hovrätt beslöt i fredags att Julian Assange ska vara fortsatt häktadDN Den aktade kriminalreportern Dick Sundevall skriver nu ”Tre dagar efter hovrättens besked tog man äntligen kontakt med Ecuadors ambassad i London för att få hålla ett förhör med Assange. Och efter en ytterst långsam process har det nu äntligen fastställts ett datum när han ska förhöras – den 17 oktober i år. Hovrätten menar nu att i och för sig ”talar den långa tid som häktningen har bestått och brottsutredarnas tidigare passivitet för att häktningen ska hävas”.

Men att det den senaste tiden har, ”vidtagits ett flertal aktiva åtgärder för att få till stånd ett förhör med Julian Assange”. Och därför ska han fortsatt vara häktad.

Frågan är hur lång tid den fortsatta processen kommer att ta. Eller kanske det kan formuleras tydligare så här: Frågan är nu hur lång tid åklagarna kan dra ut på det här framöver innan de konstaterar att chefsåklagare Eva Finné för sex år sedan hade helt rätt i att brott inte föreligger.

DN skrev samma dag ”Mindre än ett dygn innan Svea hovrätt beslutar om Julian Assange ska vara fortsatt häktad i sin frånvaro släppte Wikileaks medicinska rapporter om att dess grundares fysiska hälsa försämrats av den över fyra år långa vistelsen på Ecuadors ambassad i London. Han ska ha smärtor i höger axel och i en sprucken tand. Det ska också ha varit svårt att få läkarhjälp. En 27 sidor lång rapport som sägs vara skriven av en icke namngiven traumaexpert tar även upp Assanges mentala hälsa, som riskerar att ”försämras om han blir kvar i sin nuvarande situation” Assange hälsa försämrad

The case pursued by the Swedish prosecution authority against the founder of WikiLeaks has been declared illegitimate by the United Nations expert-panel on arbitrary detention. The ruling established that Mr Julian Assange should be set free immediately, and compensation paid to him by the Swedish state.

However, on “technical grounds”, the Swedish court has now upheld the arresting warrant against Assange, who continues arrested on illegitimate grounds for nearly six years now. This is done amid the confrontational debate between WikiLeaks and the presidential candidacy of Ms Hillary Clinton, arising from the recent DNCLeaks publication by WikiLeaks. US and Swedish political interests align in support of detaining Assange to serve those interests.

Evidence published in 2014 Professor’s blog: Svenskt åtal mot Assange beordat av USAshow that the Swedish case would have been put forward in August 2010, after the US government asked the countries participating in the NATO-led military occupation of Afghanistan to initiate prosecutions against the WikiLeaks founder. There is no legal case whatsoever, but a purely political case intended to silence or obstruct the exposures of WikiLeaks about the corrupted/secret or antidemocratic deeds of governments including the one of Sweden. At that time, WikiLeaks had exposed the secret collaboration – done behind the back of the Swedish Parliament – between the Swedish government and the military and intelligence services of the US for the transferring of personal information of Swedish citizens.

Who is influencing the courts?

We have recently reviewed the behaviour from the part of the prosecutor in the case in trying to influence the court decision, where spectacular decisions have been taken to give the impression that a “normal” procedure of the case, interrogations schedule, etc., is normally on-going.The Indicter But above all, the ‘case Assange’ is pursued in Sweden against the backdrop of an intense campaign done by NATO to obtain the formal acknowledgment of Sweden allegiance to their anti-Russia alliance, with the risks of war which such project entails.

For the maintenance of this judicial farce in Sweden, NATO has counted with the collaboration of the monopoly controlling the news in Sweden, namely the state-owned Swedish TV and radio monopoly, and those two owning all the most prominent papers and private channels. Here below their most recent deeds.

The Swedish TV aired just days ago prior the court ruling a ‘investigative program’ packed with omissions and inexact information, all highly detrimental to the truth in the case of Sweden VS Julian Assange. In separate declarations of the program producer reproduced in the Swedish Radio, Mr Julian Assange was anew attacked ad hominem, declared a “paranoid”, etc. Whereas in the program itself the Swedish public was never told of the real harassment and spying against Assange at the embassy, even the recent physical intrusion in the embassy building. Neither it was mentioned in the ‘investigative program’ the important and internationally known UN-ruling (UNWGAD) against Sweden and its request of immediately release of Julian Assange.

Some days ago Wikileaks released records ref. the health-status of Julian Assange. This was mainly intended as a challenge amid the debate of the undisclosed medical records of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. As to the inclusion of the health-status issue of Mr Julian Assange in the appeal of the case, that was know long time ago; it was already on the news at the time of the UNWGAD ruling in the spring this year.

In spite that WikiLeaks clearly stated in social media that the release of the document with the medical records was intended “as a challenge to Trump and Clinton to do the same”, the Swedish media omitted this and gave instead an incomplete, i.e. fully biased version.

In fact, one day before the court ruling on Assange freedom, the Swedish media (Dagens Nyheter and eleven other newspapers) accused WikiLekas of releasing the above-mentioned document solely as a ‘pressure’ of Assange towards the Swedish ruling, without mentioning its truly context at all. Further, the information published by the Swedish press omitted the most relevant and demonstrative clinical features described in the report, and which are directly related to the prolonged arrest, and mentioned instead a few physical “complaints” to be considered not relevant. In nowhere the dispatch in the Swedish media stated that necessary medical assistance has been denied to Julian Assange by the UK authorities.

Swedish Doctors of Human Rights demands a fully respect for the professional issuing of such Medical and psycho-social report on Mr Assange. Our research and clinical experience in working with similar cases suffering arbitrary detention and violations of their human rights, and the medical literature on the subject, indicate that clinical items suggested in the assessment of Mr Assange are real.

Doctors at SWEDHR are ready to volunteer in assisting Mr Assange with a second-opinion or evaluation of the medical & psycho social report.

We also reiterate our request on the authorities of Sweden to abide with the UN-experts ruling (UNWGAD) on the issue of Assange’s arbitrary and prolonged detention.”

SUMMARY OF RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH MR. ASSANGES CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES:
• Temporal disruptions (loss of life on the outside)
• Spatial disruptions (“death of physical life”) [sensory deprivation]
• Mr Assange is at serious risk of losing the will to move.
• Stress and anxiety triggered by: a) uncertainty of the situation; b) Indefinite nature of the
situation; c) feelings of being “at war” / targeted and persecuted / subjected to a psychological
harassment campaign; d) the difficult conditions of the confinement; e) hostile media
• Deterioration of physical condition [a. general deterioration due to the circumstances – inability
t o access fresh air, direct sunlight over a long period of time; b) medical condition as yet
undiagnosed: inability to exercise, chronic pain]
• Psychological effects of chronic pain in the absence of proper opportunities for diagnosis and
treatment
• Destruction of the felt sense of the body, damage to identity (if conditions persist) [Sensory
deprivation]
• Disorientation [chronic sleep restriction, sensory deprivation]
PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF INDEFINITE DETENTION INCLUDE:
• Severe and chronic anxiety and dread; [indefinite nature of the detention]
• Pathological levels of stress that have damaging effects on the core physiologic functions of the
immune and cardiovascular systems, as well on the central nervous system; [indefinite nature of
the detention]
• Depression or suicide [indefinite nature of the detention]
• Post-Traumatic stress disorder;
• Enduring personality changes and permanent estrangement from family and community that
compromises any hope of the detainee regaining a normal life following release [indefinite
nature of the detention] (eg introversion)
• Isolation (varying degrees of the following observable by those around him):
• Perceptual motor skills
• Perception of Time and Temporal Sequence
• Changes in level of consciousness
• Level of attention, restlessness, inability to concentrate
• Cognitive efficiency, problem solving, abstract thoughts
