Syriens armé är inte bara på väg att befria Aleppo från al-Nusra (al-Qaida i Syrien), vilket genomgående framställs som något negativt i mainstream massmedia. Visst, civila drabbas som i alla krig. Av stor betydelse är förstås de ryska flyginsatserna som uppvisar en helt annan effektivitet än de amerikanska. Avgörande är samverkan mellan markstrids- och flygstridskrafter.
Icke oväntat kommer upprepade önskningar från ledare för USA, EU att striderna mot terroristerna ska ersättas av vapenvila. Detta gagnar terroristerna. Syriens regering och armé har all rätt att försvara landet mot terrorister enligt FN-stadgan. Beklagligt att FN ligger så lågt med detta.
* Den syriska armén har också haft framgångar i Latakia-provinsen. * Nu kommer rapporter om inledande framgångar i strid mot ISIS huvudstad Raqqa Syriska regeringsstyrkor har attackerat Daesh (ISIL/ISIS) och haft framgångar på flera strategiskt viktiga områden av Raqqa-områden, rapporterade den iranska nyhetsbyrån Fars. Fars rapporterade 10/2 ”Syriska regeringsstyrkor stormade Isil försvarslinjer nära den lilla staden Zahiyeh och tog tillbaka tre strategiska höjder och flera kullar i regionen”. Syriska armén har återerövra den viktiga staden Bashoura.
Armén och nationella försvarsstyrkor dödade tiotals Daesh-terrorister i våldsamma sammanstötningar då de avancerade mot tre andra byar runt Raqqa, understödda från luften av ryska och syriska stridsflygplan som bombade terroristernas platser nära Zakiyeh. Fars rapporterade att syriska stridsflygplan också ha bombat ett av Daesh träningsläger i nordöstra Raqqa provinsen och dödade minst 33 terrorister och skadat dussintals fler. ”The Syrian army and popular forces took back one more strategic hill from Daesh terrorists following hours of fierce firefights northeast of Hama province as part of their ongoing advance towards Tabaqa airbase in Raqqa province, Iran’s Fars news agency reported, citing a military source on Sunday.

”TEHRAN (FNA)- The Russian fighter jets continued pounding the ISIL’s positions across Deir Ezzur province in Eastern Syria, killing a large number of militants, including its trophy emir.
Ramazan al-Jabarra, ISIL’s trophy emir, was killed in the Russian airstrikes on the ISIL’s headquarters in Deir Ezzur province. Meantime, the Syrian army conducted fresh military operations against the terrorist groups in the Western and Northern parts of Deir Ezzur province, and destroyed the militants’ positions and their military hardware.
The ISIL’s gathering centers were destroyed in the army’s operations near the water station of Mhimideh town and Safira Tahtani village.
The Syrian army also targeted the terrorists’ military positions in al-Bukamal town to the Southeast of Deir Ezzur city.
The ISIL’s machineguns were destroyed in al-Kitf area and two military vehicles equipped with machineguns and ammunition depot were also eliminated in the army’s operations.
The Syrian air force also destroyed the military hardware of the militants in al-Mura’yeh and Baqaliyeh villages located to the West of Deir Ezzur military airport.
In a relevant development earlier today, the Syrian army destroyed the military positions of the ISIL terrorist group in Deir Ezzur province, killing tens of terrorists, including senior commanders, in heavy clashes.
At least 71 militants were killed and 81 others were injured in the Syrian army’s attacks in al-Hamidiyeh, al-Aradi and al-Roshdiyeh neighborhoods of Deir Ezzur city on Monday.
An ISIL commander with Libyan nationality nicknamed Abu Islam al-Baghdadi and five of his deputies were among the terrorists killed in al-Hamidiyeh neighborhood.
On Sunday, the Syrian army stormed the ISIL gatherings in al-Roshdiyeh, al-Hwaiqa, al-Hamidiyeh, the old airport, al-Ma’amel roundabout and al-Rafasa, which ended in the killing or wounding of several militants.
The ISIL positions near the village of al-Mura’yeh in the Eastern part of the province came under the offensive of the Syrian army.
The ISIL terrorists’ weapons and ammunition were badly damaged in the attack.
In relevant developments in the Eastern battlefield of the country on Saturday, the Syrian army troops fended off the ISIL offensives near the strategic airbase of Deir Ezzur and killed many militants, including 14 foreign nationals.

The session, in which no action was taken, was held at the request of Russia.
”The victory achieved in the northern part of Syria, both by the Syrian army and the Syrian Kurds, is a joint victory for all the Syrians. Everybody is benefiting from the Syrian army direct support”, Ja’afari said.
